2018 Cox Classic Parlor
From the very, very special hands of Tracy Cox, that spectacular guitar maker who built the "Watchful Eye” guitar that we just sold, and the “All Tangled Up In Blue” tribute to Bob Dylan guitar, with pictures of Bob and other iconography inlaid into it, which we also sold years ago. Tracy did all of the ultra-intricate inlay work for Martin on their totally unique, one-of-a-kind, 175th Anniversary guitar with portraits of the entire Martin lineage inlaid into it, truly a sight to behold. This Classic Parlor guitar is Tracy’s homage to the beautiful instruments of the 19th century, so called for the music that was often played on them. It is quite an unadorned guitar, very different from his usual, made to fulfill the request of a particular customer who wanted as few frills as possible but to still have a true Tracy Cox hand-made instrument. The back and sides are of clear birch with lovely figure in them; the neck is of birch as well, triple-laminated with maple spacers. The fingerboard is maple with abalone position markers and Classic Parlor hand-engraved on a solid mother-of-pearl block at the 12th fret; the logo on the peghead is a fabulous rendition of the intertwined letters CP, done in both abalone and mother-of-pearl. The top is of course Adirondack spruce, for extremely clear and gorgeous tone. This two-year-old guitar is in mint condition, literally unplayed. It is a terrific opportunity to have a guitar made by one of the best and most renowned luthiers in America. $1895 w/ohsc
