2006 Heritage Super Eagle
The grandest of them all, the Heritage Super Eagle carved-top model. Those of you who know the Heritage story are well aware of the superb quality of their instruments, built in the original Gibson guitar factory building in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with some of Gibson's original staff working there as well, Heritage being one of the premier guitar companies in the world today. The Eagle is their top model, and the Super Eagle is the toppest of them all. With its full 18” body, stunning maple back, sides, and neck and finest-grain Sitka spruce top, this is one of the most sought-after carved-top guitars in the world today. Better yet, this particular one was specially built to order to achieve the purest of tones. The standard Heritage Eagle models have one or two pickups cut right into the top, mitigating some of the acoustic sound, but this one has a single floating pickup in the exact right spot at the end of the fingerboard, exactly where famed players like Wes Montgomery, Herb Ellis, and Joe Pass demanded. This is as pure as it gets. Overall condition is superb, clean as one could possibly ask for, and all set up for the hottest playing. It came to me directly from my old friend John Sebastian of 1960s-70s Lovin’Spoonful fame (Do You Believe in Magic, What a Day For A Daydream, all those hits). John just has too many guitars in his life right now and has asked me to find a new home for this one on his behalf. Included is a hand-written letter by John on his personal stationery with a great story about the guitar. $6495 w/ohsc
