A lovely little European guitar from the mid-19th century, now at least 150 years old; probably French or Italian. Lightly flamed maple back and sides, spruce top, very early-style pin bridge. The top has an amateur finish and a few repaired cracks, guitar will be terrific overall with a professional refinish of the top; finish on back, sides, and neck is original. Early-style friction tuners, three of which match with mother-of-pearl insets, appear to be original. Has an extremely interesting original hard-shell case made from formed wood, perfectly fitted.
