One of the rarest, and one of only a very, very few Fender Custom Shop Acoustic guitars made right here in the USA. For a brief time, when Fender was at the confluence of owning Guild Guitars, Kaman Music (which had owned Ovation Guitars) and a few other entities, they set up shop in an old Ovation factory in Connecticut to make these beautiful, unique, Custom Shop acoustic guitars. This went on for at most only a year or two and then it was over. I’ve never seen anything quite like this one, which came to me from a former Fender representative, unsold, untouched, and put away for the future, which is now. The entire body is of solid mahogany, unusual for anyone other than Martin years ago, and the neck, oh, that neck, is pure classic Fender all the way. Solid maple with the shape and contour we’ve all come to love, with a slab rosewood fingerboard and that iconic 70’s larger Fender headstock, traditional forever. Just personally set up by yours truly with a nice low action, feels right at home from minute one. Got that crystal-clear tone that only a solid mahogany top can provide and enough volume to satisfy anyone. Super-clean, and gorgeous in every way.
