2011 Taylor Custom 12-String
2011 Taylor Custom 12-String
We ordered this guitar new from Taylor in 2011 and truth be told, I can’t remember exactly why or what was custom about it, but I believe it was that by that time Taylor was no longer making a 12-string model with mahogany back and sides and the full 17”-wide body. They had done so many years before, stopped for reasons unknown, and as far as I know make nothing like it today. This particular guitar is one of the most perfect 12-string guitars I’ve ever seen, from anyone. The back and sides are of choice genuine mahogany, as they should be for the crystal-clear sound we all want in a 12-string guitar. A fine Sitka spruce top, fingerboard of prime ebony, and genuine mahogany neck with Taylor’s best-of-anyone’s profile complete the picture for purity of tone and fabulous feel. Its gold tuning machines and heart-of-abalone shell rosette are beautiful touches to complete the picture. We sold this guitar at the time to a local cardiac doctor, who kept it immaculately and finally decided to give it a new home. And so it’s back with us, all just checked out and gone over by us right here in our own shop, ready for its next chapter in your house for $1595 w/ohsc
