2019 Martin D-28 1937 Authentic Aged
Sigh. I wish that Martin had offered a guitar like this back when I was a lot younger, it’s that great. Made to the very exact specs of D-28s as they were made in 1937 (they've still got all the original plans and and drawings from back then), this is so close to playing a D-28 from the 1930s that you’ll be transported right back in time to those years, feel the music as it was and can be. With its back and sides of beautifully straight-grained Madagascar rosewood (astoundingly close in tone and look to the now-endangerd Brazilian), and its ultra-fine Adirondack spruce top that has been "aged" in Martin’s patented process, the tones are just, well, super clear, warm and bright, and the volume speaks for itself and quite loudly too, thank you very much. The neck has the period-correct 1-3/4” nut width and matching string spacing to go along with the traditional nut and long saddle, both bone of course. Martin has also got the look just right, the perfect amount of darkening of the top and along with it just a very few wee scratches here and there, hard to find ‘em but they provide that cool, aged look and give you that oh so comfy feeling, backing you up so nicely. This guitar came to me from its original owner, who just didn’t have time to really appreciate it and so it is in wonderful, virtually unplayed condition. Here it is, to grace your home for only $5995 w/ohsc
